Sale of Personal Information

We do not “sell” personal information as most people would typically understand that term. As is common practice among companies that operate online, we do allow certain third party advertising networks, social media companies and other third party businesses to collect information about consumers (including Internet / Network Information, Location, and Inferences) directly through our services for purposes of analyzing and optimizing our services and ads, providing content and ads that are more relevant, measuring statistics and the success of ad campaigns, and detecting and reporting fraud.

To the extent this practice is interpreted to constitute a “sale” under the CCPA, please visit here to disable non-essential cookies. We will continue to update our business practices as regulatory guidance becomes available and provides clarity on what constitutes a “sale,” particularly in the advertising ecosystem.

We will update this California Privacy Notice from time to time. When we make changes, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this California Privacy Notice. All changes shall be effective from the date of publication unless otherwise provided in the notification.

Credit Use Authorization

Last updated on August 10, 2024

By requesting an offer from Real Estate Equity Exchange, Inc., d/b/a Unison (together with its related, affiliated or subsidiary companies, “Unison”, “we”, or “us”) and/or applying for a Unison product, you will be initiating a credit inquiry, as described below, and you hereby agree to this Credit Use Authorization. In addition to this Credit Use Authorization, you are subject to additional policies, such as the Terms of Use, Consent to Electronic Communications and Signatures, and Privacy Notice (collectively, the “Unison Policies”), which are posted on unison.com (and any subdomains thereof) (the “Site”) and may be updated from time to time. All terms from such Unison Policies are hereby incorporated by reference. You also have certain rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a summary of which can be found here .

Consumer Reports
We may request consumer reports and related information about you in connection with either your inquiry as to whether you qualify for a Unison agreement (a “Pre-Qualification Inquiry”) or your submission of an application for a Unison agreement on the Site (“Application”), as further described below. Such requests for consumer reports are regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which requires that any person using a consumer report must have a permissible purpose. A permissible purpose includes when a consumer (in this case, you) has provided written instruction to the user of the consumer reports (in this case, Unison) to obtain such reports. These consumer reports may be requested from one or more U.S. national credit reporting agencies, such as Experian, Equifax and TransUnion (collectively, the “Credit Bureaus”).

Inquiry & Pre-Qualification
In connection with your submission of a Pre-Qualification Inquiry, we may conduct a “soft credit pull” through one or more Credit Bureaus to help us determine your initial qualification for a Unison agreement. This will not affect your credit score. You certify that your Pre-Qualification Inquiry on the Site is a transaction that you initiated with Unison. You further understand and acknowledge that by submitting your Pre-Qualification Inquiry on the Site, you are providing written instructions to Unison under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which authorizes Unison to obtain information from your personal credit profile and/or other information from the Credit Bureaus. Upon your request, we will inform you of the name and address of any Credit Bureau from which we obtained your consumer report.

Application
If you meet our initial eligibility requirements following your Pre-Qualification Inquiry and/or if you decide to submit an Application, we may conduct a “hard credit pull” through the Credit Bureaus to verify your identity, to make decisions regarding your Application, and for other related purposes. This inquiry will become a part of your credit history and may impact your credit score. You further understand and acknowledge that by submitting your Application on the Site, you are providing written instructions to Unison under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which authorizes Unison to obtain information from your personal credit profile and/or other information from the Credit Bureaus. Upon your request, we will inform you of the name and address of any Credit Bureau from which we obtained your consumer report.

Verification of Mortgages & Liens
You consent to us obtaining one or more verification reports for your mortgage(s), and/or related liens on the property (commonly known as Verification of Mortgage “VOM”) and other information from other persons (lenders and mortgage servicing agencies) to evaluate your application and verify information you have provided us. The VOM documents your mortgage payment history and additional information that is not commonly reflected on your credit report. Unison may use the VOM report for the purposes of verifying the existing balance and monthly payments, checking for any late payments, and monitoring information related to your mortgage. If we enter into an agreement with you, you also authorize us to obtain, from time to time, additional VOM reports from lenders and mortgage servicing agencies to determine whether you continue to meet the terms of our agreements with you. We may anonymize and use any reports and information we obtain about you to improve our business and develop and offer new products and services.

Monitoring Agreement
If you complete an agreement with Unison, you hereby authorize Unison to obtain consumer reports in the form of soft credit pulls at various times during the term of your agreement in connection with the administration, servicing, and/or monitoring of such an agreement.

Changes to Credit Use Authorization
Unison reserves the right at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of this Credit Use Authorization at any time, without notice. It is your responsibility to check this Credit Use Authorization periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Site or the submission of an inquiry, pre-qualification request, and/or application, following the posting of changes will mean that you accept and agree to the changes.
